Bio-Alcamid® is a medical device designed for the correction of small and large soft tissue deficits. Bio-Alcamid® is a homogeneous polymeric macromolecular compound, containing 4% synthetic cross-linked amide-imide alkyl-type polymer, while the remaining 96% is apyrogeneous water. Alkyl-imide belongs to the family of acryl-derivatives and its polymeric structure does not contain free monomers. Bio-Alcamid® is certified with the CE mark indicating that it has passed all the rigorous safety tests required by European legislation. Once implanted, Bio-Alcamid®, unlike other injectable fillers, becomes covered by a very thin collagen capsule which completelysurrounds the gel, isolating it from the host tissues and making it a real endogenous prosthesis.
